Guidelines for choosing a good Teacher

These are times in which proliferate hundreds of gyms offering Taijiquan and Gongfu courses, the majority of whom played by "teachers" poorly prepared that very often they learned techniques from partial occasional participation in seminars of hours.
Sign of the times, people have become accustomed to rapid courses, but really leave little to the practitioner.
Practices are proposals that have nothing to do with the Chinese martial techniques, if not an empty sequence, devoid of content that make this art an excellent method for self-defense and the health care.
You must carefully choose their Master, to avoid running into a teaching incorrect or even dangerous for your body, but it is not easy without proper knowledge.

After 42 years of continuous practice, with Chinese Masters reputed among the best, we can give the following recommendations:

1 - Avoid Teachers who do not have an identified Master, because they are at least very suspicious.
2 - Avoid teachers who have learned only through workshops and seminars, because they have a limited knowledge.
3 - Avoid teachers who have stopped learning or have learned from DVDs or books, because they have a poor knowledge.
4 - Avoid the "holy men" cloaked in esoteric mysticism or that advertise "secret teachings", because they are clearly boastful without any knowledge.
5 - Avoid online courses and distance, which are useless, because they are completely useless..

And evaluate some parameters:

1 - Evaluate the lineage of the Teacher, because gives the security of the purity of the art transmission.
2 - Assessing the progeny of Lineage, because the direct descendants are richer in knowledge.
3 - Assess the Lineage of Master of the Master, because he could have chosen a bad master.
4 - Assess the students of the Master, because a good Master creates valid practitioners.
5 - Evaluate the years of the Master's practice, one does not become experts in the art in a few years.
6 - Evaluate the ethics of the Master and Teacher, because it is not become experts in the art in a few years.
7 - Evaluate the ethics of the Master, because he is first an educator.

Finally, a Chinese teacher is not necessarily a good teacher.
Many Chinese are valid athletes, some are good Teachers, only few are excellent Teachers with traditional knowledge.

People believe that a Teacher is automatically good and certified, but it is wrong because anyone teaches even with a few months of practice or even there are those who learn from videos.

All the teachers,  even the Chinese, will have to be evaluated as indicated above.
Don’t stop at the first Teacher close to home, if the Teacher who can give You the true and traditional Gongfu and Taijiquan is still far go from him.
Better learn the true rather than the false, all the rest depends from your desire to work out.

The last of the recommendations: after choosing your Master always follow him, so that he can make you grow on the path of knowledge and make you a good practitioner of Gongfu and Li Pai Taijiquan.
