|
The basic principles of Tongbei style consist in the "four types of Jin", that together mean that heart, mind, movement, and strength have to be as those of the monkey. In the fight against an adversary it's had to emulate these qualities, changing and adapting continually. The application of the Tongbeiquan is rapid and aggressive. To change according to what happens in a true situation is one of the most important abilities of Tongbei, this way: "one technique changes in three, and three techniques change in nine". A lot of the most effective techniques are used for always striking. The students of Qi Tongbeiquan style trained for combining the hard and the soft finding the correct equilibrium among the two. Strength comes therefore issued in very powerful way. There are no superfluous or aesthetical movements. There are no movements that are not useful in the fight. In the fight the movements are small and refined. In the history of Tongbei, the teachers of the past generations were known to know how to use the techniques to kill the adversaries. |
